Police Arrests Teenager For Selling Bar Soup as Mobile Phone In Ikorodu

The Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos
State Police Command, have apprehended an 18 -year-
old boy, Segun Adeyefa, for allegedly selling bar of soap
as mobile phones to unsuspecting members of public in
traffic.
The suspect was arrested by the RRS men on routine
patrol of Ikorodu Motor Park yesterday at about 19:50
hrs, while trying to defraud a young man at the motor
park.
Upon his arrival at RRS’s Headquarters, the suspect
confessed that before he was caught on Tuesday, he
had duped one person of N3,500 who wanted to buy the
phone.
He noted that he was lured into the fraud after he was
duped through a similar means about a year ago.
"My action was prompted when I was swindled by two
guys about a year ago by this way. I had intention of
buying a phone but unknowingly to me it was a cut-to-
size bar of soap just looked similar to a phone shape...
The two guys approached me on my way to work, then,
I was learning a plumbing work somewhere around
Ikorodu... I bought the phone which was advertised to
me as ‘London used phone’ for N2, 500... As I left the
place, I checked the phone I bought, to my surprise, I
discovered it was a soap I bought for such amount...
That very moment I promised myself to revenge by
doing same to the people," he revealed.
Explaining how he mastered the tactics to swindle
unsuspecting members of public through that means, he
said "after I discovered that it was a cut-to-size soap I
bought as phone, I learnt that tactics by understudying
the material.... The item contained cut-to-size soap,
carton and wrapped all together with a cello tape."
The suspect who lived at 81, Oriwu Road, Ikorodu,
Lagos State, further revealed how he perpetuated the
fraud under the false pretence of selling a genuine
phone.
"What I usually do is called exchange. My prospective
victims will have the mind of buying handset from me
but unknowingly to them I would have changed the real
handset to soap wrapped with cut to size carton put
inside an envelope... I will engage them in discussion
after showing them real phone initially, and in the
process of bargaining for the price, I will change it with
the aid of white handkerchief to fake phone... And, I will
tell them to keep the phone inside their pockets
immediately that people are watching us. As soon as
the buyer left the spot, I will immediately change my
location by moving to another place."
The suspect further stated that the demise of his master
who was teaching him plumbing work, also led to his
criminal act.
While confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations
Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police, SP Dolapo
Badmus, warned the general public to be weary of
individuals who approach them to buy phones on
highways in order not to fall victim of con men.
Items such as fake phones, key soap cut to size, shirts,
some amount of money, packet of envelopes and cut to
size cartons were recovered from him. The suspect has
been transferred to Lagos State Task Force on
Environment for prosecution

Four Armed Robbers Arrested for Robbing Family In Ikorodu Lagos

The Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Criminal
Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, has
arrested a four-man gang that had allegedly been
terrorising residents of the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
We learnt that the suspects – Akin Ayotunde, Isaac
Ogbonna, Sola Dede and Sodiq Lawal – specialised in
lurking around houses at night and switching off their
victims’ generators before attacking them.
They, however, met their Waterloo last Thursday when
they were arrested after invading the apartment of one
Bello Hakeem in the Igbe area.
Our correspondent was told that the suspects spent six
hours in the victim’s duplex and went away with his car,
generator, money, phones, Automated Teller Machine
cards, modems, laptops and cash.
They also stole his wife’s jewellery and withdrew
N100,000 using one of the ATM cards.
Hakeem told our correspondent that around 11.09pm on
Tuesday, he observed that his generator suddenly went
off and he asked two of his children to go outside and
fix the problem.
“About five minutes after they left, they were forced
back into the house by four men, who were armed with
knives.
“They ordered us to cooperate with them. They searched
the house and made away with three laptops, six
phones, three ATM cards, a new 3.5KVA generator, one
75alms battery, two modems, jewellery, cash, and my
Toyota Corolla. They held my family hostage for six
hours before leaving at about 6am the next day,” he
added.
Hakeem, an environmental scientist, said he reported the
incident at the Ijede Police Station, adding that the
suspects were able to withdraw N100,000 from his First
Bank account before he deactivated all the stolen ATM
cards.
He said two days after the incident, a friend called him
that a car that looked like his own had been put up for
sale.
He said operatives from the SCIID, Yaba, were alerted
and the suspects were rounded up.
The four suspects, who confessed to the crime, said
they operated with knives to avoid bloodshed.

President Buhari is not Aware of any Probe of Emir Sanusi and Professor Soludo – Presidency

The Presidency on Tuesday refuted social media reports that the tenures of Emir of
Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II and Professor Charles Soludo , as Central Bank Governors,
would soon be probed by the Federal Government.
He was reacting to the social media reports, published
on Sunday and Monday, that alleged that the Federal
Government had concluded arrangements to probe the
tenures of the two former CBN governors over their
views on the state of the nation’s economy.
The reports further alleged that Sanusi and Soludo had
been put on “the watch list of the government for some
alleged anomalies that occurred during their tenures as
head of the Nigeria’s apex bank’’.
Recall that Soludo the Emir, last week condemned some
of the economic policies of the federal government and
shared suggestions on how to move the country
forward.
Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and
Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, however, in a
statement on Twitter, said the presidency was not aware
that the Emir and Soludo would be probed for offering
suggestions to the president.
“The check I made today indicated that the presidency is
unaware of the reported probe of Sarkin Kano,
Muhammadu Sanusi II and Prof. Soludo
Where did that report come from? Under our constitution
which President Muhammadu Buhari swore to uphold, it
is not a crime to offer suggestions,’’ he said.

Funke Akindele’s Mother Kicks Against Her Marriage To JJC Skillz

Lovebirds Nollywood actress, aka Jenifa, Funke
Akindele and singer and producer, Abdulrasheed Bello
aka JJC Skillz wedded on the Thespian’s birthday which
was Thursday in the UK with no family members in
attendance.
Though a couple of the singer’s family members,
including his daughter were said to have been there
with only Funke’s sister standing in as family for her.
It is reported by Vanguard that Funke Akindele’s family
and particularly her mother were strongly against her
marriage to JJC, who, they believe has same profile as
that of Funke’s first husband, Alhaji Kehinde Almaroof
Oloyede.
Funke Akindele’s first husband, Alhaji Almaroof has
several children from 3 – 4 women, just like her
supposed current husband who is said to have three
children from three women.
But the big question is, why the secrecy? Isn’t marriage
a thing of joy to be celebrated openly? The answer may
not be too far away to the contention that the Funke
Akindele’s family are not in support of the marriage and
the fact that no qualified family member had been
around to properly give the actress away.

I’m Having Issues in my Relationship Because of Fake Rumours – Actress, Amanda Ebeye Cries out

Nollywood actress, Amanda Ebeye, is not new to
controversies but this time, she is boiling hard and not
happy with some parts of the media as a whole.
Amanda knowing how smart the media can be has for a
long time tried avoiding granting interviews to print
medium and will be ready to jump at the visual medium
when she is being approached with the excuse that the
print tends to temper with what she has said.
Well, the actress is currently not happy with viral
reports that went rounds some weeks back that she was
in love with an officer which is why she has been
absent from the movie industry for a while and was
trying to hide the relationship from her fans,,
She could not hold back her anger as she decided to
blow hot as she disclosed that negative things written
about her is affecting her relationship with her man.

another man and the rumours have been affecting their

seat down and cook up all sorts of things about
someone. I don’t know this celeb police green news or
whoever they are. That they know my family and how
desperate I am. They even know my location, know my
situation and know who I’m with. Wow.
You want stories on your blog so you don’t mind
writing bull. I’m having issues in my relationship
because you’re linking me to a man I met only once in
my life, at an event. Please please please for the last
time I have no business with this man. Please. I’m in a
relationship; I’m not getting married now. When I’m
ready you’ll definitely be invited. You say I’m hiding in
Ghana and all sorts of things. Finally I’ll tell you to get
your facts right before posting, because these horrible

Past rulings come back to haunt judge seeking CJ post

Past rulings came to haunt Supreme Court Judge
Alnashir Visram, who was the first applicant to face
the Judicial Service Commission’s interview panel
for the post of Chief Justice in Nairobi on Monday.
This came as the commission set new interview
dates for the seven non-shortlisted applicants for
the post, among them a US-based university don,
Prof Makau Mutua, retired Judge Aaron Ringera
and Supreme Court Judge Jackton Ojwang, in
compliance with a High Court ruling. The court had
ruled that the commission consider them for
interviews.
Justice Visram was asked to clarify why he granted
hefty payments to plaintiffs in defamation cases
where at one time he awarded powerful President
Daniel Moi-era Cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott
Sh30 million in a suit against a newspaper.
He was also taken to task over how he arrived at
the Sh25 million he awarded in another defamation
suit filed against the UK-based publishers of the
book, Dr Ian West Casebook, and its two authors.
The judge defended himself, saying awards in
defamation suits were the discretion of a judge as it
may be appropriate.
He argued that in the Dr West case, Mr Biwott was
defamed in the hard cover of the book that was
circulated in libraries worldwide and that the
authors entered a consensual agreement to pay
Sh10 million as damages.
A suit Justice Visram had also filed in 2011 against
another local publication also came up, as he was
asked to explain how he would cope with sharp
criticism and debate about his performance as
Chief Justice, and particularly from the media.
HIS STAND
Justice Visram, who is also the presiding judge of
the Court of Appeal in Nyeri, would find himself in
a tight corner again after Attorney-General Githu
Muigai sought his stand on whether the death
penalty would stay and on the homosexuality
debate.
While he dodged the homosexuality question,
promising to deal with it appropriately if it came to
his desk, he maintained that the death penalty is
not appropriate and challenged the courts to
determine an appropriate sentence instead.
The judge pledged to automate all judicial processes
in his first 100 days in office, such as filing of
cases to ensure it is done any time of day to curtail
corruption at the registry.
Justice Visram also promised to eliminate the
current backlog of cases and set up structures for
the training of expert negotiators to act as alternate
dispute resolution mechanisms. He cited his record
of training 300 such negotiators globally. He further
promised to call meetings to “rebrand” the
Judiciary to build confidence levels and to upscale
the anti-graft war.
The judge also promised to build a more
independent judicial system even as he cited the
media as one of the obstacles to judicial
independence.
Following the High Court ruling, the interviews for
the included Chief Justice applicants will start on
September 5, and end on September 13, while for
post of deputy CJ and Supreme Court judge will be
announced later.
“In complying with the directions of the court, the
JSC will publish the revised schedule of interviews
for the positions of Deputy Chief Justice and
Supreme Court judge,” said the commission in a
statement on Monday.

Edo 2016: Traditional rulers and politics of endorsement

As the September 10 Governorship Election in Edo
State approaches, most traditional rulers in the state
have delved into the muddy waters of partisan politics
by endorsing candidates of the two major political
parties, writes Osemwengie Ben Ogbemudia in Benin
city.
IN Edo State where the gubernatorial election is
scheduled to hold on September 10, 2016, traditional
rulers in the state have abandoned their role as
custodians of the people’s custom and tradition to
swim in the murky waters of partisan politics.
They are either overtly or covertly backing the
candidates of the two major political parties in the
state the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and
the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to findings by our reporter, these
traditional rulers-turned politicians are quick to
justify their new found role on the altar of either
serving under a benevolent or discriminatory
government.
For instance, traditional rulers under the beck and
call of Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the APC gubernatorial
candidate, explained their endorsement of his
candidature on the basis of his family background,
and the developmental strides of the APC-led
administration in the state.
But those rooting for the PDP governorship candidate,
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, loudly complain about the
neglect of their areas by the current administration in
the state led by Governor Adams Oshiomhole. They
concluded that with Ize-Iyamu on the saddle, their
various communities would instantly become an El Do
rado.
The only exception to this rash of endorsements is
the Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, His Royal
Highness, Ehenede Erediauwa, who had earlier wished
both candidates well in their struggle to become the
next governor of the state.
At least, 28 traditional rulers in Edo Central Senatorial
district have so far endorsed the candidacy of Ize-
Iyamu. In doing so, the monarchs expressed
displeasure over the removal of Hon. Victor Edoror, as
Speaker of the State House of the Assembly, as well
as the continued marginalisation of Esan land in
terms of development. Edoror hails from Edo Central
Senatorial District.
At the endorsement of the PDP candidate, which
took place at the palace of the Ojuromi of Uromi, HRM
Anslem Eidenojie, the traditional rulers generally said
that the ‘sustained marginalisation of Esanland and
her people in a state that belong to all of us is
unbearable.”
In their separate remarks, HRM Aidenojie Ehidiamen of
Opoji, and HRM Izuware of Ujiogba, appealed to
Pastor Ize-Iyamu to correct the inequitable
distribution of dividends of democracy in the state on
assumption of office in November 2016.
The endorsement of the PDP candidate by traditional
rulers in Esan land, goes beyond the alleged
marginalisation of area by previous administrations in
the state. Ize-Iyamu’s family background might have
influenced the blessing he got from the royal fathers.
“We know you (Ize-Iyamu) very well. You are a man,
who has direct relationship with virtually all the Enijie
(traditional rulers) in Esanland. You are a son of the
former Esogban of Benin Kingdom. You are a son of
tradition. Your father served in the Palace without
blemish. He did not betray the palace.
“We, the Enijie in Esanland believe that if we give you
our support, you will not betray us. We want to say
that Esan nation is part and parcel of this state. We
know how much we have been relegated in our own
state, and we are very unhappy about it,” said the
Ojuromi of Uromi.
Furthermore, the Ojuromi of Uromi, profusely praised
Ize-Iyamu for picking his running mate from Esanland,
describing the act as a ‘wise decision.’
“Our saying thank you will not just be by word of
mouth, we will use our voters’ card to practicalise our
thank you,” he remarked.
Nevertheless, there was a twist in the tale. Barely 24
hours after the traditional rulers in Esanland gave Ize-
Iyamu a nod, the Onojie of Opoji, denied having a
hand in the endorsement of any governorship
candidate for the September 10 election.
He explained that he, alongside other monarchs, was
invited to listen to what the PDP candidate had to
say when his campaign train screeched to a halt in
the area, and were not told that the business of the
day included an endorsement of the party’s
governorship candidate.
“I told the PDP people that action speaks louder than
voice. I also demanded to know if what the PDP
candidate promised to do for us if elected into office
will be better than what the current APC government
in the state had so far done for us,” said the Onojie of
Opoji.
Meanwhile, the Ojuromi appears to have spoken from
both sides of his mouth. When the APC campaign
team, led by the State Governor, Comrade Adams
Oshiomhole, visited the Ojuromi’s palace, the
monarch said he was impressed with the governor’s
performance in less than eight years of his
administration.
However, he stopped short of calling the Onojie of
Opojie a liar. He revealed that money was shared at
different meetings between the traditional rulers and
the PDP candidate, saying that the Opojie king got a
fair share of the PDP largesse.
He also alleged that the Opojie serves as the middle
man between Ize-Iyamu and the monarchs in Esan
land.
The Nation can authoritatively report that 23
traditional rulers from six local government areas of
Edo North Senatorial District have so far endorsed the
candidature of Obaseki, the APC governorship
candidate. That is not all. The traditional rulers
reportedly made fabulous donation to the Obaseki
Campaign Organization.
Not a few doubt whether the money came from the
coffers of traditional rulers since many of them utterly
depend on the monthly stipends from the state
government.
Speaking in Auchi, the Otaru of Auchi, His Royal
Highness, Alhaji Aliru H. Momoh, Ikelebe III, said their
preference of Obaseki to Ize-Iyamu, stemmed from his
(Obaseki) accomplishments while serving in
Oshiomhole’s administration.
“I want to say that Edo State traditional rulers have
further committed themselves to this campaign by
saying that whatever money you gave to traditional
rulers during meetings of this nature at various
locations we are donating such monies to your
campaign.
“What is destined by Almighty God, nobody can alter
it. Nobody can violate it; nobody can overtake it. So,
we are happy to make that statement today because
there is no doubt about the fact that the one who is
propelling you and giving you to Edo State is a man
that God has chosen for that assignment. And
because of that, we are assuring you that we will
continue to pray for your success in this exercise,”
said the Otaru.
On their part, the Okuokpelagbe of Okpella, HRH
Yesufu Dirisu and the Olokpe of Okpe, Oba Idogun of
Okpe, noted that traditional rulers in the area decided
to stand on the path of development which was
started by Oshiomhole seven and eight years ago,
and prayed God to grant Obaseki success in the poll.
According to the ruler of Okpella: “It is not flattery to
let you know that all traditional rulers, both openly,
jointly and in their private rooms are praying for you
because of what you have done for us; what you have
done for the state, what God has made you do for Edo
State, and in fact Nigeria.”
At Uhunwonde Local Government Area in Edo South
Senatorial District, 25 Enogies’ who endorsed Obaseki,
later presented him with white chalk, symbolising
victory.
The Enogie (traditional rulers) of Ogiomo, Iguoboe,
Emo, Ogha, Erua, Osemwinda, Obadan, Ugoneki and
others who said they are yet to fully attain their full
potentials, blessed Obaseki and his running mate,
Hon. Philip Shaibu, prophesying that they will emerge
victorious in the September 10 poll.
Speaking on the endorsements, President of the Elite
Consolidative Forum, Comrade Israel Amadin noted
that though it is the fundamental right of the
monarchs to support a particular candidate, it must
be geared towards a developmental end for the
benefit of the people.
“That the traditional rulers are endorsing a candidate
is not the issue, but what they have in mind for
endorsing them.
“We have seen where traditional rulers are neglected
and not cared for, but if we have a candidate who is
sincere and has pledged to take development to the
grassroots, it should be expected that such candidate
should be supported.
“Before Comrade Oshiomhole came, traditional rulers
were not as vocal as they are now. They are vocal
today because they have been carried along in the
affairs of the state.
“They are now seen as part of good governance and
not just the custodian of a particular tradition. What
should be appreciated is the fact that these
traditional rulers are concerned about the
development of their people.
“Well, I know a lot of people would think they should
be apolitical, but when being apolitical as the case
may be, doesn’t bring development or progress to the
state, they also share part of the blame.
“So for me, though they should be apolitical, they
have the right to express their feelings because it is
all about developing the state and traditional rulers
must work with government in that aspect.”

My Husband was My Maths Teacher , I met Him in 1999 - Sola Kosoko

Excerpts from Sola Kosoko’s recent chat with Nollywood
actress Sola Kosoko
How have you been copying with marriage and acting,
do you stay with your husband?
Of course we stay together. I just spoke with him on the
phone now. My husband is based here in Nigeria. He
works in a telecommunication company as an architect. I
just came back from abroad where I had gone to deliver
my baby. So, back to the question of how I have been
coping with marriage and acting, I would say it’s been
God all the way. If I say it’s been easy, that means I’m
not being truthful to myself. Combining marriage, acting
and motherhood is very tasking, but the Lord has always
been my strength.
How did you meet your husband?
The truth of the matter is that I have known my husband
even before I became this famous. He has been my very
close friend since I was in secondary school but we
never dated, he was always there supporting me. He’s
very good at calculations and I’m not that good, so he
was always helpful. Even when I got admission into the
higher institution, he never turned back; he supported
me academically and financially. We met shortly before
my 20th birthday in 1999, but I told him I wasn’t ready
for a relationship.

(Music) : Shuun Bebe - Dier Fada

Shuun Bebe comes through with another banger
"Dier Fada"
Apparently the song is dedicated to haters who are
opposed to his shine. what drew my attention was
where he addressed the Olamide "Who U Help/Who U
epp" issue. The Talented South South act sang "Nor
ask me who I help, I help Olamide" lol Olamide
actually gained quite an audience with "Who U epp".
So I guess Shuun is saying he helped Olamide by
giving him a hit song. Hit that download button and
and listen.

Woman was Caught in Kenyan Hospital For Making Fake Pregnancy With Balloon to Steal a Baby

21-year-old Kenyan woman has
been caught with a balloon tucked in her clothes
under the guise of being pregnant in order to steal
a baby from a hospital.
The suspect identified as Purity Kiritu was
admitted at Othaya District Hospital, Wednesday,
August 24th, at about 7:30 pm after pretending she
was in labour.
After preparing a labour room for delivery, the
nurses were shocked to find a red inflated balloon
neatly tucked under her clothes.
The hospital authorities informed the local police
who came to the hospital and arrested the
woman.
Purity reportedly travelled from Nairobi to
Murang’a four days ago to stay with her mother-
in-law Ms. Josephine Wairimu where she would
deliver.
Other reports say that she was under pressure
from her husband to give him a child.
A police officer who spoke anonymously said the
fake pregnancy was just a ploy to steal a baby
from the hospital.

Oil prices drop as output hopes dampen

Oil prices fell Friday as OPEC’s key producers cast
doubt on the need to cut output, denting hopes of
a deal to tackle a global supply glut.
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh on Friday said
his country wanted its pre-sanctions share of the
crude market.
His comments followed a warning by Saudi Energy
Minister Khalid Al-Falih regarding the success of a
gathering in Algeria next month on world output
levels.
Around 1230 GMT, US benchmark West Texas
Intermediate for delivery in October was down 18
cents at $47.15 a barrel.
Brent North Sea crude for October delivery lost 32
cents to $49.35 a barrel compared with the close
on Thursday.
“Comments from the Saudi energy minister quelled
expectations of a production freeze, which
rekindled concerns over the ongoing oversupply,”
said Lukman Otunuga, research analyst at trading
group FXTM.
Oil prices had rallied last week and entered a bull
market — a 20-percent rise from recent lows — after
OPEC and Russia announced plans to discuss the
supply crisis, which has hammered the crude
market for more than two years.
But prices have taken a beating this week on
concerns about prospects for success at the
September meeting in Algiers.
In an interview with Bloomberg News, Falih said: “I
don’t believe that an intervention of significance is
required. I certainly don’t advocate a cut.”
But he added that a “freeze (in output around
current levels) signifies that everybody is content
with where the market is today and they want it to
be trending in that direction”.
A previous OPEC attempt to steady output
collapsed in April largely because of Iran’s refusal
to join talks, having just emerged from international
sanctions and keen to maximise its oil revenues.
However, even if a deal is reached next month on
the sidelines of an energy conference, there are
doubts about the impact a production cap may
have on an already oversupplied market.
“Most of the OPEC countries are sending a signal
that they’re open to freezing production, but you
have to remember that most of them are producing
at peak levels,” BMI Research oil and gas analyst
Peter Lee told AFP.
“Even if producers come to an agreement, the
freeze is at a very high level.”
Lee added that he is “personally quite sceptical”
about whether producers can come to an agreement
in Algiers.
“It’s not just the matter of a production freeze or a
cap, but there are geopolitical concerns involved
too, especially when it comes to Iran and Saudi
Arabia,” he said.

How Omotola Jalade was Forced into Early Marriage

The popular actress now known all over Africa has an
inspiring story to tell all today but her story was never
the same many years ago.
When her father, the sole provider forthe family, Mr
Shola Jolade died, things was so bad for Omotola and
her younger ones that they once went begging with
their mother in a neighbour’s house.

At that point, good meal became a luxury for her family.
Given this circumstance plus her stunning looks and
curvaceous physique, people thought she would end up
as a prostitute.
Truth be said, this reportedly played a part in her getting
married early at 18.
Insiders alleged that she chose early marriage instead of
prostituting like most women in her situation would do.
Omotola who married for love in 1996 is now an
accomplished actress, a wife and a mother with several
movies to her credit.

Her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde once said he met
her a virgin.
Because of her humble beginning and her husband’s
impact in her life and career, the actress has managed to
put her marriage together all this while.
She is one of the top scandal-free actresses in
Nollywood today.

Wife Stabs her Husband for Drinking her last Beer

45-year-old Tracey Lee Giffin allegedly flew into a
rage when she woke up from a nap and discovered
her last can in the house was gone.
Gaffin, from the US state of Pennsylvania, reportedly
grabbed a pair of scissors and used them to slash
at her 59-year-old husband.
Cops say she also bit him during the alleged
attack.
Trib Live reports that she has now been charged
with aggravated assault, assault, reckless
endangerment and harassment.
Her husband is said to have suffered cuts to his
chest, stomach and neck.
Police also say they found bite marks on his arms
and thumb.
It was also revealed Gaffin has had a previous run-
in with the law over an item of food.
According to KDKA, she and her then-boyfriend got
into a fight because she forgot to buy barbecue
sauce on her way home on Christmas Eve in 2013.
The report says she bit the unnamed man on the
nose and hand, and suffered an eye injury herself.
She is currently being held in Fayette County Jail
ahead of a preliminary hearing.

Age Reduction Now A Trend In Nollywood Funke Akindele’s Real Age Is 44 - Says Producer

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has come under
fire for allegedly falsifying her age.
Miss Akindele who celebrated her birthday on
Wednesday told fans yesterday that she is now 39, a
‘white lie’ that allegedly upset a Nollywood producer
who has seen Funke Akindele’s official credentials in the
past.
The producer who requested not to be named told
Entertainment Express yesterday that the actress was
born Akindele Olufunke Ayotunde on the 24th of August
1972.
The actress who is currently enjoying the company of
her ‘serial baby daddy’ boyfriend in London is yet to
respond to the age falsification allegation.
Let’s hope she shares her own official birthday certificate
like Chike Ike did some years back to remove doubts on
her fans mind.
The Nollywood source who exposed Miss Akindele
added that age reduction has now become a trend in
Nollywood.

Nollywood Actress Chioma Okoye Attacked For Crashing Friend’s Marriage Offered N 3Million

One of the trending entertainment new stories of the
month is that of budding Nollywood actress cum
producer Chioma Okoye who reportedly produced a
movie based on the true life story of her friend.
She got into trouble when she created the movie titled
‘Lagos Men’ with the true names of her friend, husband
and their daughter.
Though she confirmed that the lady gave her a go-ahead
to release the movie in 2014, but no permission was
given to her to use the real names of the parties
involved in the child abuse story.
To cut the long story short, she has been offered
N3million by the friend in question to take down the
movie but she has refused.
This is what her lawyer said yesterday:
“It must be clearly established that the film did not
contravene any known law, statute, rules of motion
pictures, injurious to reputation, slanderous or libelous.
Rather it’s a story created to bring to life people’s rough
tides, calculated at superb imagination engagement and
to promote good societal values.
We have taken steps to protect our client and we shall
further seek redress in the court of law on her behalf.
They should not conceive that the stupid chance they
had on our client that fateful morning, their intimidation,
coercion, and threat might deprive her of her rights and
all this success, newly appreciated and newly illumined
by her fans and the general public”.
