A private hospital in Warri Delta state has detained two
women who recently delivered their babies.
The victims of the unjust detention said since their
unemployed husbands deserted them, they have no one
to turn to for help.
One of the women recently lost her baby because she
couldn’t afford the needed medication for the baby while
the other is still nursing her baby under stressful
condition in the hospital.
Those close to the nursing mothers said the hospital
ignored the pleas from the women to allow them to go
on humanitarian grounds.
The women currently in the hospital located on Jakpa
Road in Uvwie LGA of Delta state are said to be battling
starvation.
The poor women with no means of survival have been
barred from speaking to the media.
The hospital management has also barred journalists
from entering the premises.
