11 Baby Sellers Arrested As Police Raid Baby Making Factory In Akwa Ibom State ( See Photos)


A 42-year-old woman identified as Comfort Edem and 10
others have been arrested for allegedly running an illegal
maternity home also called baby making factory where
helpless pregnant women are forced to sell their babies.
Akwa Ibom Police Commissioner Murtala Mani said the
syndicate was smashed on the 13th of October 2016
when one of their victims reported them to police over
the sale of her baby.
One of the expectant mothers who recently sold her
baby there, 23-year-old Comfort Effiong from Ikot
Akpantuk area of Akwa Ibom said she sold her baby for
N400,000 because she didn’t know the man who
impregnated her.
The director of the baby making factory, Comfort Edem
and 10 others are currently awaiting trial.
