President Buhari is Not Free From Corruption - George Daika

Hon George Daika has said President Buhari is not
corrupt free as he would have Nigerians believe
– The ex-member of the House of Representatives
said the scandal involving Buhari as minister of
petroleum should be considered
– Daika has sympathized with Nigerians over the
hardship experienced under the APC-led government
Chieftain of the PDP, Hon George Daika, has said
President Muhammadu Buhari is not as corrupt free
as he wants Nigerians to believe.

President Muhammadu Buhari cannot say he knows
nothing about corruption, says Hon Daika.
The former member of the House of Representatives
said on Friday, September 23, that considering the
scandal during his service as the Minister of
Petroleum and as the Petroleum Trust Fund
Chairman, Buhari cannot dissociate himself from
corruption.
Daika said this in chat with journalists in Jos,
saying, “Honestly, I sympathize with Nigerians over
the suffering inflicted on them by the ruling All
Progressive Congress (APC) government led by
President Muhammadu Buhari.

“This self inflicted suffering on Nigerians is as a
result of the clueless and visionless APC government
in the country.
The former Lawmaker who represented Shendam,
Mikang and Quaan-Pan federal constituency in the
sixth assembly described the situation of the
ordinary Nigerian as unfortunate; saying “stealing of
food on stoves and rise in criminality, are now
common occurrence in today’s Nigeria, these are all
because of the economic recession which has
degenerated to depression.
On the blame game of the APC that the PDP ruled for
16 years and destroyed the nation, Daika who was a
former Speaker of the Plateau State House of
Assembly, said, “It is laughable, because most of
those who made President Buhari’s ministerial list
are those who served the PDP at various times; so
why the hullabaloo?” he asked.
Daika described Governor Simon Lalong’s probe
panel which was set up to investigate government
activities from 2007 to 2015, as a diversion from their
ineptitude to rescue the people of Plateau.
According to him, the panel is illegal because the
House of Assembly did not sit to demand for any
probe.
Commenting on the padding issue rocking the
National Assembly, the former Lawmaker said, it’s a
ploy by some leaders of the APC, who are using Hon.
Abdulmumuni Jibrin to bring down, Rt. Hon. Yakubu
Dogara and Senator Bukola Saraki.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the All Progressive Grand
Alliance [APGA] in Katsina State, Alhaji Umar Tata, on
Friday urged Nigerians to support President
Muhammadu Buhari with prayers to lead Nigeria out
of its present predicaments. Tata, the party’s
governorship candidate in 2015, made the appeal in
an interview in Funtua, Katsina state.
He cautioned Nigerians against over reliance on the
President, saying that “he is human and capable of
making mistakes.” According to him, what is required
is for all Nigerians, irrespective of any affiliation, to
contribute meaningfully to pull the country out of
recession and set it on the path of growth and
development. The APGA chieftain stressed that every
Nigerian must develop positive attitude to nation
building, so as to ensure social and economic
stability in the country.
“People should support the President with prayers
and constructive criticisms, and stop expecting huge
turn around within a short time.” He noted that the
administration had done well in the areas of security
and war against corruption, and expressed optimism
that it would do more in other areas of development.
