Charming and talented Nollywood actress, Belinda Effah who added a year two days ago is from Crossriver and a graduate of the University of Calabar.
Early Life
Effah was born in Cross River State. She had her primary and secondary education at Hillside International Nursery & Primary School and Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt respectively. She furthered her studies at the University of Calabar, majoring in Genetics and Bio-Technology.
Acting Career
She made her first television debut in the 2005 TV series Shallow Waters . Afterwards, she took a break from the series to feature in the reality show Next Movie Star . She finished 5th, and was never evicted from the house.
She was once a television presenter for
Sound City , a Nigerian Entertainment cable station. However, she left the station to start her own TV show titled
Lunch Break with Belinda .
Awards & Nominations
In 2012, Belinda won the Best Nollywood Awards for Most Promising Act, Golden Icons Academy Award for Best New Actress.
In 2013, she won Nollywood Movie Awards for Best Rising Star and was nominated for Best Indigenous Actress, afarica Movie Academy Awards and Ntanta Award For Most Promising Act.
She was nominated in 2014 ELOY awards as Best Movie Actress Of The Year and won Golden Icons Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2016, she was nominated at the AMVCA (Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards) as Best Actress In A Drama.
Relationship
Belinda Effah is a mother of one, though currently single, she was once linked with colleague, Daniel K Daniel.
