BasketMouth Says If Donald Trump wins the US election, I'm so running for the Presidential election in Nigeria 2019

Nigerian comedian and comic actor, Basketmouth has
dared Republican Presidential Candidate in the United
States, Donald Trump saying he will run for the 2019
Presidential election in Nigerian if Trump wins.
It is a popular belief by many including Basketmouth
that Donald Trump will lose out to Democratic
Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton in the November
election.
"If Donald Trump wins the US election, I'm so running
for the Presidential election in Nigeria 2019,"
Basketmouth said.
It would be recalled that this week, the Nobel literature
laureate, Wole Soyinka said he will destroy his
greencard and leave the country if Trump wins.
“If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll
do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply
to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that,”
said Soyinka, who is scholar-in-residence at New York
University’s Institute of African American Affairs this
autumn.
"It’s a constant fight to try to get a nation to recognise
its own noble persuasions … the loftiness of human
possibility.
“What is happening in Europe shouldn’t surprise any of
us … It has happened before,” he said. “We were here
when Enoch Powell was leading his thugs out to drive
blacks from here … it’s a constant fight to try to get a
nation to recognise its own noble persuasions, its own
persuasions of the loftiness of human possibility. It’s for
young people like you to say no to them whenever that
happens.”

YABATECH honours 12 outstanding alumni in Art industry

Authorities of the Yaba College of
Technology, Lagos on Tuesday, honoured 12
alumni of its School of Art, Design and Printing for
their outstanding performances in the art industry,
authorities.
According to sources, the award would be a big
boost to attract youths to embracing art industry,
which is showing positive contribution to the
nation’s GDP.
Despite a contraction in Nigeria’s second quarter
GDP, activity in the arts, entertainment and
recreation sector contributed 0.26 per cent, a rise
from the 0.24 percent in the second quarter of
2015.
The alumni are Olumide Oresegun, Abass Kelani,
Folami Rasaq, Ejiro Amos-Tafiri, Ngozi Schommers
and Taiye Idahor.
Others include Richardson Ovbiebor, John
Adeyemo, Sonde Ibukun, Stanley Ohikhvare,
Ayodeji Balogun and Soji Kuforiji.
The awardees displayed several genre of
articulation at the maiden edition of the Home
Coming Exhibition holding from Oct. 31 to Nov. 30

Senate rejects Buhari’s plan to secure $29.9bn external loan

The Nigerian Senate has rejected
the request for approval of a 29.9 billion US dollar
external borrowing plan by President Muhammadu
Buhari for the 2016 – 2018 rolling plan.
The rejection followed the non-attachment of a
detailed breakdown on the areas of expenditure
that the loans would be directed at.
TVC News Sumner Sambo reports that the
presidency and the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume have
promised to lobby all lawmakers for a re-
presentation of the proposal.
The letter was sent to the parliament last week
requesting the approval of an external borrowing
plan of 29.9 billion dollars to execute key
infrastructural projects and special interventions
across the country.
But when it was scheduled for debate, majority of
the senators rejected the proposal through a voice
vote that shook the presiding officers.
The non-inclusion of a detailed budget breakdown
accompanying the letter was interpreted by many
senators as seeking anticipatory approval without
scrutiny hence the rejection of the request.
The letter had stated that the 11.2 billion dollars
would be for projects and programmes, 10.6 billion
dollars for Special National Infrastructure projects,
Euro Bond loans of 4.5 billion dollars and Federal
Government Budget Support of 3.5 billion dollars
all totaling 29.9 billion dollars.

I battled depression, before and after son’s birth - Adele says

Singer Adele said in a
magazine interview released on Monday that she
suffered from post-partum depression after the
birth of her son and had undergone therapy when
younger for what she called her “very dark side.”
The British singer, who is nearing the end of a 10-
month tour to mark her album “25,” told Vanity
Fair in an interview for its December cover story
published on its website on Monday that she
would be happy if she never had to tour again.
“I’d still like to make records, but I’d be fine if I
never heard (the applause) again. I’m on tour
simply to see everyone who’s been so supportive.
I don’t care about money,” Adele, 28, was quoted
as saying.
The 10-time Grammy winner, known for heart-
wrenching ballads such as “Someone Like You”
and “Rolling in the Deep,” said she had always
been drawn to sad music.
“I have a very dark side. I’m very available to
depression. I can slip in and out of it quite easily.
It started when my granddad died, when I was
about 10, and while I never had a suicidal thought,
I have been in therapy, lots.
“But I haven’t had that feeling since I had my son
and snapped out of my postpartum depression,”
she added.
Adele gave birth to son Angelo four years ago
with boyfriend Simon Konecki.
“I had really bad postpartum depression after I had
my son, and it frightened me… My knowledge of
postpartum — or post-natal, as we call it in
England — is that you don’t want to be with your
child; you’re worried you might hurt your child;
you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job. But I
was obsessed with my child. I felt very
inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision
of my life. It can come in many different forms,”
the singer said.
Adele acknowledged that her future songs would
likely never match those she wrote for her 2011
album “21,” which has sold more than 31 million
copies worldwide.
“I can see from an outsider’s perspective that I will
never write songs as good as the ones that are on
’21’, but I’m not as indulgent as I was then, and I
don’t have time to fall apart like I did then.
“I was completely off my face writing that album,
and a drunk tongue is an honest one,” she said.
Since having a child, Adele said she has quit
smoking and now drinks only a couple of glasses
of wine a week.
