Father Nails his Two Children On the Cross in Calabar , accused them of witchcraft

In another gut wrenching and bizarre revelation by the
Child's Right And Rehabilitation Network(CRARN) a
40year old man, John Friday Akpan from Akwa Ibom
State, resident in Calabar the Cross River State capital,
is now explaining to the police how he heeded the
advice of a herbalist, "Dr." Okokon and eventually
tagged his two children, Elisha Friday Akpan and Esther
Friday Akpan as witches and wizards.
An act reminiscent of the nailing of Jesus Christ on the
Cross, Friday Akpan subjected his two children aged, 12
and 6 respectively, to harrowing treatment by nailing
them to a plank in shape of a cross and locking them up
in a dark, thatch hut without food for weeks. He claimed
that the children took his money to their "master in the
witchcraft coven and therefore deserve no mercy". He
told the police.
Following weeks starvation, the two children whose
emaciated and dirty physical appearance replicate the
gory images of starving children in famine-ravaged
Somalia and war-torn Sudan said they survived by
water which was supplied to them by one of the man's
kids from another woman.
"Our sister, Peace usually bring us water inside the hut
when our father and our mother had gone out". Esther
said.
Their father, the kids said, used to reside in Akpabuyo,
Cross River State, Nigeria with the family where he sent
them to a private school, Regent Nursery and Primary
School, Ikot Nkanda but when their mother died and the
man took another wife, Iquo, the story changed.
"My mother (stepmother), said the woman who used to
live near our house in Akpabuyo gave us food and she
put something (witchcraft spell) in the food and when
we ate it we changed to bird at night and took our
fathers money to 'our master' in the witchcraft world".
Elisha who is a JSS one student of Regent said.
According to the kids, Elisha was alleged to have taken
4,000 Naira while Esther took 2,000 Naira and that
angered their father and step-mother who started
beating them severely and denying them food "because
they said we took their money to our master in the
witchcraft coven. This is something I don’t even
understand"

EFCC Presents 13 More Exhibits Against Alex Badeh

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court
sitting in Maitama, Abuja on Thursday, the 27th
day of October, 2016, admitted another thirteen
exhibits tendered before it by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the
ongoing trial of a former Chief of Defence Staff,
Air Chief Marshall Alex Badeh (rtd).
Badeh is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside
his company, Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, for
allegedly abusing his office by using the dollar
equivalent of the sum of N1.4 billion (One Billion,
Four Hundred Million Naira) removed from the
accounts of the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, to
purchase properties in choice areas of Abuja
between January and December, 2013.
The offence contravenes Section 15 (2) (d) of the
Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as
amended) and punishable under Section 15(3) of
the same Act.
Counsel to EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, led the
seventh prosecution witness, PW7, Oluwatoyin
Oke (a business woman); from whom the first
defendant (Badeh) allegedly bought a choice
property in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja in evidence.
The witness told the court that she used to own
and live in No. 19, Kumasi Crescent, Wuse 2 Abuja
also known as plot 456 Kumasi Crescent Wuse 2,
until 2013 when she sold it for N260million.
Oke stated that after putting the property up for
sale, she was contacted by one Abba Maidama
who informed her of an interested buyer.
Upon inspection of the property, Maidama further
informed her that his client was ready to
commence payment in three installments.
The PW7 told the Court that the first installment
she received was $550,000.00 (five hundred and
fifty thousand United States dollars) which was
paid into her account by the agent.
Upon receipt of the second and third installments
of the dollar equivalent of N260million, Oke
stated that she signed and handed over all the
original documents and title deeds of the
property, including a Power of attorney, Deed of
Assignment and Deed of Sale to Maidama.
Prosecuting counsel now asked the witness to
ascertain copies of the documents which were
shown to her in court; and she did. Thereafter,
the documents were tendered and marked as
exhibits D8 to D20 with no objection from lead
defense counsel, Akin Olujimi, SAN.
Olujimi was called upon to cross-examine the
witness to which he declined. Justice Okon Abang,
thereafter, adjourned to the November 2 and 3,
2016 for continuation of trial.

Protest in Akure as INEC recognizes Jimoh Ibrahim as Ondo state PDP governorship candidate ( Photos )

Aggrieved members of PDP in Ondo state are currently
staging a protest in the state capital, Akure, following
INEC ’s decision to recognize billionaire businessman,
Jimoh Ibrahim , as the PDP candidate in the November
26th governorship election in the state.


Jimoh Ibrahim who belongs to the camp of the
Factional PDP leader, Ali Modu Sheriff , was yesterday
recognized by the electoral body over Ahmed Makarfi-
faction ’s candidate , Eyitayo Jegede.
INEC is yet to give reasons for choosing Jimoh over
Jegede who until yesterday , was displayed on PDP ’s
official website as the party ’s governorship candidate .
